Why the good cases actually happen here
Most dentists can diagnose a complex case. Far fewer get to treat one, because the conversation
that makes it possible never gets the time it needs.
We built our practice around that conversation. Every patient is offered the Diag — a
comprehensive oral health assessment with their dentist at no extra cost. It happens one-on-one
in a relaxed office with no dental chair in sight. Together you look at their oral health history,
review the current situation, and talk through future scenarios and options. No rush. No pressure.
We guide, they decide.
What this means for you
You get the time to present a case properly, to people who have chosen a practice that works this way. That is
why the full-mouth rehabilitations, the full-arch cases and the smile makeovers happen here instead of being
referred somewhere else.
The work
Taradale is an established, busy practice with full books and a patient base that understands and
values comprehensive care. You would be doing:
• Full mouth rehabilitation and complex restorative dentistry
• Implants — single unit through to full-arch and All-on-4 style restorations
• IV sedation for anxious patients and longer surgical appointments
• Laser dentistry — Biolase water laser for hard and soft tissue, gum recontouring and smile
lifts, fillings without the injection
• Minimally invasive and micro-dentistry — air abrasion, Diagnodent laser caries
diagnosis, magnification
• Digital workflow — 3D scanning and CAD/CAM, crowns delivered in a day
• Clear aligners and full-face orthodontics
• Facial aesthetics, if that is an interest
On-site CBCT at Taradale, digital radiography, intra-oral cameras throughout, and the materials
budget to do the job properly. We buy the best tools because we want the best outcomes — that
is not negotiable here.

person who wants to talk about it over lunch.

About you
Essential
• BDS or equivalent, registrable with DCNZ. Degrees from ADC (Australia), GDC (UK),
Dental Council of Ireland (2022 onwards) and CODA or CDAC (USA and Canada)
accredited programmes are already recognised.
• Five or more years in general practice, with complex restorative cases you are proud of.
We would love to see a portfolio.
• Confident across a full range of general dentistry, all ages, all procedures.
• Excellent communication — you can explain a complex plan to a nervous person and have
them feel informed rather than sold to.
• High ethical standards. We mean what we say, and we expect the same.
Highly regarded
• IV sedation certification, or the appetite to obtain it
• Surgical implant placement, particularly full-arch
• Laser experience — and if you have none, we will train you. We have been doing this
longer than most.
• Clear aligner or orthodontic certification
And who you are
• You care. Patients are people, not units of production.
• You are curious by nature, humble, and you respond well to feedback.
• You want to mentor as well as be mentored.
• You want to be part of a team, not an island with a drill.

Life in Hawke’s Bay
Taradale sits just inland from Napier, in one of the sunniest and most productive regions in the
country. This is New Zealand wine country: vineyards and cellar doors on your doorstep, a
farmers’ market worth getting up for, and Art Deco Napier on the coast a few minutes away.
Beaches, cycling trails and hill country are all within an easy drive. Housing is within reach in a way
it is not in most of the cities you may be leaving. The commute is short, the schools are good, and
the pace leaves room for an actual life outside the surgery.
New Zealand consistently ranks among the best countries in the world for work-life balance, and
among the safest. The furthest point from the sea in this country is 120 kilometres. You will not
be one of them.
